House Parent

The Selah Creek House parent job is a full-time, live-in position. The houseparent’s goal is to create a peaceful atmosphere for residents and their babies to live in. The houseparent oversees all scheduling, transportation and daily running of the home- with support from other staff. The most important role of the houseparent is to foster a healthy, supportive relationship with each resident where she feels loved, accepted and is free to learn about the Gospel of Jesus.

Qualifications

  • Be committed followers of Jesus.
  • Be qualified on the basis of personal character to work with expectant mothers and be able to serve as part of a team.
  • Must have a pro-life stance and be neutral on adoption vs. parenting.
  • Be over 25 years of age.
  • Not have children under 3 years of age.
  • Be a high school graduate.
  • Have at least two years of successful experience in fields such as youth work, household management, or houseparent experience, if possible.
  • Be a person of demonstrated integrity, maturity, and sound judgment, capable of establishing and maintaining a sound administrative structure.
  • Be capable of providing leadership and spiritual guidance to each of the young women according to her specific needs. Shall have a sympathetic understanding of each young woman and her unique situation.
  • Be able to provide evidence of financial responsibility.
  • Shall not be the perpetrator in a substantiated report of neglect or abuse, nor have a criminal record.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality in all ministry issues.

Salary & Benefits

  • Selah Creek house parent will receive a yearly salary of $20,000 plus all living expenses paid including all groceries.
  • 2 weeks of vacation a year.
  • One full day off a week and every other weekend off Friday- Sunday.
